The Village Playhouse is embarking on a gift campaign to renovate the historic Meddin Bros. warehouse-and turn it into a state of the art theatre!

Thanks to the incredible support of the Meddin Family we have a golden opportunity to bring our award-winning theatre company downtown and become an integral part of this exciting and rapidly transforming "Arts Corridor."

Designed by award winning Charleston architect Bill Huey, and overseen by Chastain Construction, the new facility will feature the Playhouse's trademark intimacy and cabaret style while drastically improving the theatrical experience for patrons and performers. A 250 seat cabaret space will allow flexible staging for innovative theatrical experiences.The Village will deliver the same intimate feeling patrons expect, but improve programming options, audience services and performer amenities. Imaginge the revitalized Woolfe Street with a vibrant performing arts center proudly welcoming patrons thorugh the doors of the new "Village on Woolfe." The performing arts venue promises to be a vital addition to the neighborhood that will enhance the cultural landscape on the upper portion of the peninsula. We can't make it happen without your help! Together we can transform the area, create artistic excellence, bring new vitality to a truly historic and totally unique property.
